Just Another Day Of Trying New Products..Part 1

I love makeup! I love going to makeup counters to look at what’s new and I especially love trying them out! Well, ok, maybe some of them are just new discoveries and not really new in the market. Nevertheless, it is discovering great products that really work for you that is more exciting.

Recently, I had some amazing discoveries and I just want to share them with you…

L-R: Elf eyeshadow “C” brush, Elf contour brush, L’oreal True Match liquid foundation, Essence lip liner in cute pink, Flormar lip line in 230 and 228, NYX Mega Shine lip gloss, L’oreal Super Liner, L’oreal Double Extension Curl mascara

Let me start off with my loot from L’oreal…

What I like about this liquid liner is the applicator. It’s not a brush but a soft kind of rubbery applicator. Also, it is super waterproof once it dries. I have oily skin and oily lids. When I used this liquid liner I didn’t have any problem with it smudging even with the humid weather. It’s also very easy to apply thanks to the applicator.

The Double Extension Curl is one of those waterproof mascara with a two step application. You begin with the Flexing + Curling Base and then proceed with the Ultra-lengthening + Curling Mascara. The liquid liner and mascara is a good combo.

Meanwhile, I have heard some good things about the True Match liquid foundation so I just had to try it for myself.

It has a great light to medium coverage that is perfect for daily wear. I enjoy how smooth it goes when applied and it’s really light weight. The only downside is the bottle because it doesn’t have any pump. So I have to pour a bit on the back of my hand to get some products out. Then I use a foundation brush to apply it.

Watch out for Part 2…

2 Makeup Must-haves For Women On The Go

I’ve observed that Filipinas tend to be more concern about their eyebrows and their under eye area. I’ve been often asked what’s a good and affordable under eye concealer and eyebrow pencils. These two products are also something you can take with you in your makeup kit, in case you would need to touch up before those after-work get-togethers.

Recently, I’ve found some good products that you may want to give a try.

First off, concealers from Collection Cosmetics..

Collection Cosmetics And Sleek Makeup

As I mentioned before, I went to Crossings department store to find some flats. The hunt for my next go-to flats was a success, but along the way I found some makeup products I wanted to try out.

These brands aren’t that new. In fact, there have been some buzz going on about them. I’m talking about Collection Cosmetics and Sleek Makeup. Both brands originated in the UK. Also, they are very affordable, something anyone will like.

First off, here are my goodies…

So I got the Storm eyeshadow palette and Pout Polish in Pink Cadillac from Sleek. And from Collection Cosmetics, I got two lipsticks, two shimmer shades, and a volumizing mascara.

I’m not really into balms in pot form but the color is just so vibrant! And it did not disappoint. This is now a staple in my makeup bag.

Storm Palette
Storm Palette

The eyeshadow palette has some really wearable shades and I love how this palette has a rose gold shadow I have been looking for. Honestly, As I was buying it, I couldn’t help but be reminded of Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. I’m just not sure which Naked palette, so I went and compared them.

As you can see, the Storm palette has some similar shades with both Urban Decay Naked Palettes. It has some cool and warm shades. So it really is a good mix. Also, the pigment of the Storm Palette is really good. I was a little surprise by the quality, honestly.

Now, onto the Collection Cosmetics…

Shimmer Shades in Way To Glow and Blushalicious

These two Shimmer Shades are the first things that caught my eye. This is the first time I bought such a blush product. I was really drawn into, how both blushes have all the basic colors you may need for blushes! Also, you can use some of the cubes as highlighting and bronzing shades (Way To Glow). I have been reaching for these two for a while now, and they are really good. The packaging is a little bulky but the pigments are good. They are not chalky and goes on smoothly. They are quickly becoming my favorite blushes! I love how you can mix all four shades in one cube or choose just one shade. I love the versatility the product gives.

Volume Sensation Lipstick in Cherry Pop and Satin Bow

I was curious with their lip products so I got some. And as can you see from the photo, I immediately used the shade Satin Bow as soon as I paid for it. Yup, as it went through the scanner, I opened and used it. And I do love it! The pigment is nice and color payoff and good. But the lasting power is not so nice. But that doesn’t really bother me much.

Big Fake Mascara
Big Fake Mascara

I’m not a fan of the Big Fake Mascara. I did like the wand, but I noticed, that after a few minutes I applied the mascara on my lashes, they kind of went back from being straight. That’s been a major issue for my straight eyelashes for years and it has been a little tricky for me to choose the right mascara.

All in all, it was a fun haul! Have you tried any of these products? Share your experiences!

Maybelline Bold Matte and L’oreal Candy Lipsticks

Since I’m still in a hiatus from applying eye makeup, I have been obsessed with lip products. I keep buying them. I know I have to stop myself from doing this but then I saw the new Maybelline Bold Matte Lipsticks. Also, I have always wanted to try L’oreal’s Miss Candy Collection Lipstick. IMG_1174

So I got two new Maybelline Bold Matte Lipsticks in MAT1 and MAT3 and one L’oreal’s Miss Candy Collection Lipstick in the shade Miss Strawberry.

Another batch of NYX goodies

I can’t help it! I love NYX products! They really are value-for-your-money products. And best of all, they are super affordable. It’s really great that there are online stores like Digital Traincase that make them available here in the Philippines.

This is actually my first Pre-order purchase. This means I ordered the products and paid for them in advance. And yes, I had to wait for them to be delivered. Why I chose to have them pre-ordered? Well, the shades that I like are always sold-out. So this time, I told myself to be patient and just go ahead and pre-order them. And here they are…

L-R: NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee and Merengue, NYX Makeup Setting Spray in Dewy Finish, Matte Lipstick in Audrey and Butter, Powder Blush in Pinched and Red

So, I got the new products: NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee and Merengue and NYX Makeup Setting Spray in Dewy Finish. Then, I got the almost-always sold-out products: Matte Lipstick in Audrey and Butter and Powder Blush in Pinched and Red.

I just can’t wait to try them all! As soon I try them on, I’d let you know what I think.

Loving Online Shops

I’m really glad that we Filipinos are getting the hang of online shopping. It’s good that we have trusted sellers nowadays; and with the help of social networking sites like Facebook and Multiply, online shopping became easier and more fun.

I’m not a novice when it comes to online shopping but I’m not a frequent buyer as well. I had my first online shopping experience with a very trusted seller and college batch mate, Ana Gonzales of Anagon Collection. I adore her accessories especially her one-of-a-kind wire art designs.

My other fave is Digital Traincase. This online store has been around for a while. They offer NYX products as well as a large collection of nail polishes from different brands. I usually buy from them in bazaars, just for the single reason that I want to test out the products first. But recently I tried ordering online through their Multiply site. It was so hassle-free.

L.A. makeup madness: It’s Gold!

My first makeup primer is the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer. My former makeup teachers introduced this to me. I loved it the moment I first used it, not just on my skin but also on my models/clients. First off, it smells really really nice thanks to the Chamomile in the product. Also, it makes the skin supple and smooth, making the foundation glide easily. In my experience, it works well with any skin type but is best used on people with dry skins. It also helps lessen the appearance of fine lines because of Vitamin E. I apply it using a foundation brush.
