If I would compare my personal makeup collection with my professional makeup artist’s kit, I have a limited one as you can see in my previous post. I realized I have few eyeshadow shades. Of course, I have my neutral palette in the form of Naked 1, then I have a more colorful one which is Urban Decay’s Smoked palette. But that’s almost about it. And I kind of got tired with the usual shades I wear everyday, then I spotted my favorite bronzer from The Balm.
Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of fashion spreads where models with the popular cat’s eye makeup or winged eyeliner to some.
This eye makeup style is one of my favorites because it’s such a classic, it was common look during the 1950’s and think about Ancient Egypt and Cleopatra, it’s very wearable whether at night or during the day, it would just rely on the intensity of the “wing” or how sharp and how far you would extend the pointed tip.
Perfecting this look by making sure both eyes have a similar amount of eye liner and same tip may be a bit of a challenge at times. But I’ve found a way to make it easier.
First, Let me show you the eye products I’ll use.
I love putting eye makeup, especially mascaras. But living in the Philippines where the weather is hot and humid, us ladies go for water-proof mascaras. Sure they stay on the whole day without smearing but when it comes to taking them off before going to bed, we need a potent eye makeup remover.
It’s not that easy to completely take out the makeup. At times, it would take more than a few cotton squares, makeup remover, makeup remover wipes, and even some baby oil. It can take a lot of work and not all of us has the energy to stand in front of the mirror and spend an hour or so just to completely remove traces of makeup on our faces; this we do after a hard day at work.
Recently, I got The Balm’s Balms Away eye makeup remover. It promises to easily remove eye makeup and has vitamins A, C, and E, and a blend of plant-derived sterols and lipids.
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with makeup products from The Balm; which started with Cabana Boy, a blush I got early 2011.
